Education Service Center, Region 2 will provide technical assistance and professional development to local education agencies and community stakeholders to assist in meeting federal, state and local mandates for special education evaluation, reevaluation, and determining effectiveness of the special education program. Technical assistance will include responding to correspondence and telephone calls requesting consultation on comprehensive assessments and testing methodologies to make recommendations to improve student performance. Emphasis is placed on an integrative assessment approach and appropriate evaluation practices. Additional assistance and professional development is available in the area of procedural guidelines and school district compliance in relationship to the Individual with Disabilities Education Act.
Quarterly contact group meetings for all assessment personnel are also provided.
